We are so grateful that you found your way here; that you have started the process of calling in another support for what you are going through.

WHO WE ARE

Before we have the privilege of meeting you, you should have a chance to know a bit about us. Here is an introduction to who we are, the breadth of our clinical training, and the values that inform our practice.

We consider therapy to be about sitting with another person, not to figure out what is wrong in their life, but to shine a light on the ways they have protected themself as best they could, and which of those ways of surviving are no longer functional.

HOW WE HELP

Our style of therapy can be described as holistic, conversational, at times humorous, non-prescriptive, co-created sessions that—importantly—do not reduce your issue to a matter of personal psychology, but embody the full context of your lived experience: social, cultural, political, racial and historical. We outline the details of our therapeutic approach here.

There are many possible paths for arriving at new understandings: we may discuss themes in shows or movies, novels or myths, stories that speak to us, or music that moves us. We listen to sensations that come up in the body and also get information from the things we'd rather not discuss through language. We are always gathering metaphors that give us access to our experience. Our job as therapists, sometimes, is to clear away what might conceal those connections.

PLACES TO START

Not yet able to access therapy? Or just want some information to explore before you take that courageous step? We have collected links to crisis and community contacts, some common stories about the therapeutic journey, articles and free exercises and apps that we hope will help and inspire.
